Smorgasbord is Swedish for 'bread and butter table' and is used to mean a rich variety of hot and cold foods.
Norwegians call it a Koldtbord and the Dane's a Kolde bord.
It is a buffet style table often offered at holiday time or at times of celebration and guests can help themselves to the delicacies on offer.
Much the same as our Comedy Smorgasbord - something for everyone.
